The South Eastern Economic Development (SEED) Corporation has recently made a small business loan for $8,000 to Mediation Resources under SEED’s Micro Loan Program.  The loan will assist in the start-up of the divorce mediation practice.

“Our experience with SEED was extremely supportive and direct at a notice,” stated co-owner Rebecca Hall of Mediation Resources.  “SEED’s staff was always available and the workshops were extremely valuable.  I would recommend SEED to any small business looking to truly establish itself in the market.”

The business is located at 56 North Main Street, Suite 202 in Fall River, Massachusetts.  Co-owners Angela Razza and Rebecca Hall are both social workers who are certified Divorce Mediators.  They specialize in settlements, child custody, visitation and support as well as the tax ramifications due to divorce.  They enable their clients to reduce legal costs and promote communication and cooperation. Mediation Resources will operate seven days a week by appointment, with most taking place in the evening.  For more information, visit their website at www.mediation-resources.com.

“We were pleased to provide Mediation Resources with an $8,000 micro loan to help open their practice doors,” stated Laurie Driscoll, assistant vice president, commercial loan officer at SEED.  “This small loan was the extra boost that Angela and Rebecca needed to get ready to do business!”

SEED can lend up to $200,000 for working capital and other uses.  The term on the loan is up to 10 years with longer repayment periods, if necessary.  Interest rates range from 5 percent to 6 percent fixed depending on whether there is bank participation.

SEED Corporation is a non-profit economic development organization certified in 1982 by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Under various programs, SEED makes loans from $1,000 up to $5.5 million to assist small businesses to grow and create jobs throughout the region.
